Terms & Conditions of Therapy

1. As a registered member of the UKCP (UK Council for Psychotherapy), I abide by their code of ethics and complaints procedure. For further information, please visit: https://www.psychotherapy.org.uk/registers-standards/standards-guidance-and-policies/

2. Confidentiality. The service I offer is private and confidential. I will not disclose information about you except for the purposes of:

   • Supervision (a professional requirement for psychotherapists). I am supervised by a Psychologist, registered with the British Psychological Society (BPS), itself regulated by the UK Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). My supervisor is accountable for your care and supervision is 100% confidential.

   • Legal obligation. If I have reason to believe that you intend to harm another person, child or yourself, I have a legal duty to disclose information to the relevant authority. 

3. Records. As a condition of my personal indemnity and insurance, I am required to keep your records for 5 years, after which they will be destroyed. The information I hold is kept to a minimum and safeguarded according to the General Data Protection Act 1998 and UKCP professional codes of practice. You have the right to inspect your records at any time.

4. Governing Law & Jurisdiction. If we conduct therapy via Zoom, Microsoft Teams or other web/digital-conferencing tools, it is a condition of this treatment that it is provided under English & Welsh Law, even if you are outside the UK at the time of supply. Each Party irrevocably agrees that the courts of England & Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim (including non-contractual disputes or claims) arising out of or in connection with this Agreement or its subject matter.

5. Cancellation. If you need to cancel a session, please provide a minimum of 48hrs notice. Sessions cancelled with less notice will be charged at the normal session rate. 

6. I occasionally send my clients details about psychotherapy programs and services provided by me (not third parties) that maybe of interest. If you would prefer NOT to receive these updates, please tick the box below.
